  1. What did you do in lab today?
    1. This week in lab we learned about the blanket of Earth. This was because of the green house gases and our emission into the atmopshere. We also learned that in the winter there are more greenhouse because the plants are dead and the plants are what take in the CO2. In the summer there is lesss CO2 because the plants are alive and taking in the CO2 that we are breating out or producing.
  2. What was the main lab question?
    1. What is the blanket of the Earth?
  3. What did you learn in Thursday's discussion?
    1. In lecture this week, we discussed climate change and the process of how we got to where we are today. Humans have not been around that long and the Earth use to be able to regulate itself before humans. Also learning about the Albedo effect was really interesting and something that I hadn't thought about before.

    1. What did you learn?
      1. One thing that I learned is that July 2019 was the hottest month on record for the plane. This to me is actually so crazy because it seems to just be getting hotter and hotter. This data has been since 1888 which means that we are only getting hotter. 
    2. What was most helpful?
      1. The Earth's atmosphere has risen over 1 degree Fahrenheit in the past century meaning that our Earth is realling increasing in temaptrue. I think that hearing this data was really helpful to put what we are learning into perspective. 
    3. What do you need more information on?
      1. One thing that I would likemore imofrmation on is the idea that climate change is caused by humans. Is there not anything else that is making this worse, or is it really just us using emissions and not being able to slow down the greenhouse gasses emmitted into the Earth's atmopshere. 
  5. What questions, concerens, and/or comments do you have?
    1. How can we decrease the temapture on the planet?

    Week 13 Blog Post

     This week was really interesting to me. We got to really dive deep into the M&M experiment we tried last week and got to change different variables. It was also interesting to hear about the other tables because we all got to experiment with different ideas and use different ways to find them. One thing that I learned was the capture of the water influenced how fast the colors bled. Overall, the orange M&M bled the fastest while the blue bled the slowest. It was also interesting to see that the sugar water made the colors bleed very slowly and contained around the M&M, while the waters with no sugar bled and spread. Overall, I thought this activity was really fun and interesting to complete and think about. I think this would be a great activity to complete in an elementary classroom to get them to start thinking about ideas like this one.

    Week 8 Blog Post

     This week in class, we learned about the ideas of DNA and RNA. In this topic, we learned the differences between the four bonds within. For example, in DNA the four bonds are A and T and then C and G. In RNA there is no T, so the letters are A and U and then C and G. This is how the strands work. We also learned about mutations and how they can affect the DNA strand and also how a mutation works in a DNA strand. This was really interesting to learn about and can benefit my future students because it will help them also understand the way they look. Lastly, once again, we looked at our plant and got to see the growth of our plant. Unfortunately, it is getting very dry and starting to die a little. Overall, I enjoyed learning about DNA and RNA this week.  Our plant from this week!

    Week 11 Blog Post

     During this week's class, we got to explore many different hands-on labs. The main point of this activity was to discover the why. Many young students want to know why, but we don't know how to explain it. We can understand what is happening and why it's happening, but how do you explain this to someone who doesn't understand. I think that this was a really interesting way to explore this idea. We discovered so many different things during this activity. The most interesting one was the baking soda and vinegar. We knew as older students what was going to happen, but we were not sure how it happened. I think that doing these experiment help us learn how to teach ideas like these, but also can help students in the classroom ask question and be curious during experienmenting. Asking question is a good way for studetns to learn and start to understand they why of things happening. Here is two of the different acitivites that we did!   Ice melting ^^^ Plunger Push ^^^
